2010 ELECTION SPECIAL:
POLITICAL PARTIES SHARE THEIR VISION FOR QUALITY, EFFECTIVE EARLY CHILDHOOD
EDUCATION WITH EARLY EDUCATION
Eight of the main political parties are sharing with Early Education
members, their vision for quality, effective, early childhood education in
any future government.
The double page spread which appears in the latest edition of Early
Education’s member newsletter News, features contributions from the Labour
Party, Conservative Party, Liberal Democrats, Ulster Unionist Party, Plaid
Cymru, Scottish Nationalist Party, Sinn Fein and the Social Democratic and
Labour Party (SDLP).
Megan Pacey, Chief Executive of Early Education said:
“Early childhood education and care is now a much contested public policy
area by political parties. Many other organisations have launched manifesto
‘wish lists’ in the run up to the General Election but with local elections
set down in many areas in the UK for the 6th May 2010 and a General Election
needing to be called before June 2010, we felt it was important to give our
members the opportunity to hear directly from the main political parties,
their vision for quality, effective early childhood education in any future
government.”
