Five leaflets to support developing high quality practice outdoors
Compiled by: Annie Davy, Early Years Adviser for Learning through Landscapes
Produced by: Jane Cole, Early Childhood Consultant
This pack is the third in a series of resources produced by Early Education.
Compiled by Annie Davy, Early Years Adviser for Learning through Landscapes, and

The first leaflet explains and gives an overview of why outdoor provision is
recognised as central to early years policy and practice across the UK and
beyond. It puts forward a tried and tested model for the cycle of planning,
developing and changing provision to improve quality and to support children's
learning and development. The other four leaflets each highlight specific areas
of learning and development with challenging and enjoyable ideas for planning,
action and reflection.

2. Look, listen and speak out - focus on communication and language development
3. Time and space outdoors - focus on exploration and problem solving
