Attachment and the Key Person role

Attachment and the Key Person role

Many of us have explored Bowlby’s theories about attachment in our initial training but the research has continued. The implications of attachment theory in the context of EYFS underpin and will inform our care and understanding of all children. Knowledge of attachment is particularly important for the role of key person. This comprehensive course reviews attachment research and provides an opportunity to explore the implications for our day to day practice. The course includes:

  • The key person role – What does it look like from the child’s/parent’s/practitioner’s perspective?
  • Exploring research and reviews by Sroufe, Kochanska, and Meins
