This course will explore the most appropriate ways to support and enrich young children’s learning, which respects and encourages their own thinking and ideas, leading to independence, high self-esteem, resilience and great involvement in deeper-level learning.
This course will:
- Look at the roles of adults as educators and co-learners
- Explore aspects of the ‘learning climate’ which promote independent learning
- Consider the impact of the organization of time, space and resources on children’s confidence and independence
- Explore the principles of listening actively to children and documenting their independent learning
