Developing Knowledge and Understanding Through Children’s Interests and Enquiries.

Aims and objectives:

This course is suitable for anyone wishing to develop and deepen children’s curiosity, their thinking skills, their thoughts and learning through an active and enquiry based approach to learning.   Participants will explore questions that foster enquiry and children's interests.  They will examine concepts and methods to challenge and extend children’s thinking and consider how children use materials to construct and communicate their learning to and with others.

  • Learn about what enquiry is, what it looks like and how to support it
  • Discover how to ask generative questions of enquiry through the presentation of materials and spoken word
  • Leave with ideas of how to support your children’s enquiries and interests in your own setting
  • See how this can look like when working with young children with rich examples and case studies from everyday practice.

Audience:  All educators and leaders working in ECE interested in finding out more about identifying and working with children’s interests and enquiries as an approach to learning.
