Developing Knowledge and Understanding Through an Enquiry Approach to Learning

Aims and objectives:

This course is suitable for anyone wishing to develop and deepen children’s thinking skills, their thoughts and learning through an enquiry based approach to learning.  Enquiry based learning draws upon research and practice developed in international contexts that holds aims for children to be active in the process of learning.  Participants will explore questions that foster enquiry.  They will examine concepts and methods to challenge and extend children’s thinking and consider how children use materials to construct and communicate their learning to and with others.

•   Learn about what enquiry is, what it looks like and how to support it

•   Discover how to ask generative questions of enquiry through the presentation of materials and spoken word

Leave with ideas of how to support your children’s enquiries in your own setting

Audience:  All educators and leaders working in ECE interested in finding out more about enquiry as an approach to learning.
