This course gives participants opportunities to explore:
- diversity in early years – challenges and opportunities;
- how values, beliefs and EY practice may support prejudice
- the problem with deficit models of children and families
- the achievement gap – what does it mean?
- inequalities in policy and practice – implications for children and families;
- cultural capital and children’s ‘funds of knowledge’;
- making relationships, moving forward.
