Aim

  • To reflect on how we make the best use of space so that children can be independent, make decisions and become confident, self directed learners

Objectives

By the end of the training participants will be able to:

  • Discuss and apply space, materials and storage guidelines for the indoor learning environment
  • Define the types of materials that support children’s play and strategies for labelling and storing these materials
  • Assess their current room arrangement and materials and identify any areas for development
  • Understand the role of the indoor learning environment in promoting our goals for children’s learning and development

Audience: EY Practitioners working with children birth – 60+ months, PVI settings/schools, Childminders, Independent and maintained schools
