Initial training for those new to the role of SENCo in Early year’s settings

Aims and objectives - Delegates will have opportunities to:

  • Have an awareness of the key elements relating to the role of the SENCo and supporting inclusive practice
  • Become familiar with the expectations of the role of the SENCO in a PVI setting.
  • Have an opportunity to gain knowledge about the 4 Areas of special educational needs as identified in The Code of Practice (2015)
  • Be introduced to the procedures which may be place in their Local Authority and how to fulfil the requirements in order to support children and families.
