Learning through Play in the Foundation Stage

Delegates will have opportunities to:

  • Reflect on what is meant by involvement and how to measure it
  • Consider the correlation between child involvement and deep level learning
  • Examine appropriate strategies to enhance children’s involvement levels
  • Consider the affordance offered by materials and their location within a setting
  • Consider how the adult role and positive interactions impact on children’s involvement levels and sustained thinking and learning
  • Consider an approach to planning for play with a focus on learning and progression – child led learning (not necessarily thematic led)
