Observations for managers

The Early Years Foundation Stage relies on an observational based assessment approach. Children develop and learn best when their learning environment is tailored to their individual needs, supported through careful observations, informed assessement and long term planning. 

This course will:

  • examine the reason why we observe children, drawing on the legacy of Susan Isaacs
  • Investigate some of the wider implications
  • Define what is a good observation
