In 2007 the EYFS Practice Guidance stressed the following,

Observations are perhaps the most powerful of all the methods we have available when working with children. Observation, Assessment and Planning all feed into one another and contribute to our knowledge (and understanding) about the child. (p.5)

It is still the case today that the process of Observe, Assess, Plan is at the core of children’s development and learning, a professional skill which informs the experiences we provide for children, or in other words the early years curriculum. In these workshops Di will unpick this process following the three aspects below, using examples from practice and children’s learning stories

  • Observation is a professionally informed skill
  • Assessment for learning – how we understand children’s development and progress
  • Possibilities and planning to support, extend and teach

The webinar will take place on the following dates and times:

Session 1: 16th June, 7.15pm-8.45pm

Session 2: 30th June,  7.15pm-8.45pm
