Research has revealed that children's personal interests helped to shape their transactions with people, materials and activities resulting in different profiles of early writing experiences (Wells Rowe and Neitzel 2010). How do we ensure that young children are supported in their physical development for writing and then that we use their interests and fascinations to motivate them to write? Sarah Gordon will be sharing her extensive experience as an early years teacher, trainer and consultant in this session on early writing and providing practical ideas about how early writing can be supported in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
