Persona Doll Training: Part time Persona Doll Coordinator Post

Persona Doll Training (PDT) is a small, long-established educational charity which promotes equality and inclusion through tried-and-tested work with staff and children in children’s centres, nurseries and schools. The co-ordinator post presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and hard-working Individual to play a key role in leading, marketing, initiating funding opportunities, and contributing to all aspects of the charity’s work.

The appointee to this post will be contracted to PDT as a self-employed person for the equivalent of 2 days per week allowing for some flexibility to fulfil the required tasks.  The daily rate will be£200, amounting to £20,000 over the year. This contract is for one year initially and you will be expected to work from home and liaise with the trustees and administrator regularly.

What we do
We provide training to staff in using special ethnically diverse and large dolls to tell stories to children that develop their ability to empathise with others and encourage them to stand up for themselves, and support others.  Through these stories children are helped to see the injustice of the situations presented to them and motivated to think of possible solutions to difficulties. They are enabled to become problem solvers and decision makers and having their ideas treated with respect boosts confidence and self esteem.

Persona Doll Training has developed resources to support our work –Dolls, DVDs and print publications - and this will continue as the training expands.

For a job description and person specification please email your interest to babette@personadoll.com

Closing date for applications: 28th July 2017.   Interviews will take place in September 2017

Volunteers wanted

Early Education has a wide range of volunteering roles.  Our trustees and branch committee members are all volunteers.  We also value volunteers to come and help from time to time in our office.  If you can spare time on either a regular or ad hoc basis to come and help us achieve our aims, we'd love to hear from you.

We are particularly keen to hear from you if you can offer expertise in any of the following areas:

  • marketing

Opportunities include:

  • Assisting in the office - join our small friendly office team and help us with publications dispatch, membership liaison and events management.  As a benefit, you may get opportunities to sit in on our training and events.
  • Helping us develop our online resources - you could collate useful links and resources for practitioners and parents, act as an editor for blogs or book reviews
  • Join a current branch committee, or start a new branch

Interested?  Send us a quick email about your skills and experiences, and the kind of volunteering activity which would interest you to office@early-education.org.uk
