Headteacher for Birchwood Nursery School

Salary: L12-18 £53,521 to £61,860

Are you an aspiring leader with a passion for Early Years education? Birchwood is a thriving nursery and preschool with financial sustainability. Due to the retirement of our current Headteacher, we are looking for an inspirational, strategic, outward facing and collaborative leader for our Nursery school for September 2019. Whether you are currently working within a Nursery or Primary School setting, you will have a passion for early years education. You will be supported by a strong senior leadership team, an experienced SBM and a highly motivated staff team. Birchwood Nursery School offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or aspiring leader to further develop their career and shape the future of this exciting nursery and preschool setting.

We are seeking a candidate who:

Holmewood is an outstanding school in the Lambeth Nursery Schools’ Federation with a largechildren’s centre running from various sites, working to provide excellent early years education
and support young children and their families. We are looking to fill the above post. We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and motivated Early Years Educator. You will be working in the nursery school and included in this role is sharing lunch with the children. You will be working as part of a team supporting the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage to two, three and four year old children, some of whom have special educational needs.

Are you:

  • A highly committed, creative and reflective practitioner able to provide high quality education and care for young children
  • Able to effectively support young children and their families from a diverse ethnic and social background
  • Keen to work as part of a supportive, flexible and busy team

Experience:

The Role

Job requirements:
Unqualified: Experience working with children aged 2-5 years old. Forest school or outdoor education experience is also desirable but not essential, but you will have a passion for the outdoors and connecting children with nature. You'll be flexible, with strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team across multiple settings.

Qualified: Experience working with children aged 2-5 years old and a minimum of level 3 in childcare or QTS is essential. Forest school or outdoor education experience is desirable but not essential. You'll be flexible, with strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
