Speaker Bios:

Catriona Gill is Head Teacher of Greengables Nursery School & Family Centre in Edinburgh; a unique setting which offers Early Learning and Childcare, alongside a wide range of support and education for families and the community. Catriona qualified as a teacher in 2009 and quickly realised her passion for early years. She completed the Froebel Certificate Course at Edinburgh University in 2013 and subsequently developed her practice based upon Froebelian principles. Catriona is on the committee of the Edinburgh Froebel Network, helping organise conferences and seminars and maintaining the website. She also tutors on Edinburgh University’s Froebel Certificate Courses and offers practical experience at Greengables. In 2016, she was awarded Professional Recognition in Professional Enquiry by the GTCS and regularly presents her work at conferences, seminars and training events. Before becoming a teacher, Catriona was a professional theatre director and person-centred counsellor, and this informs her belief in the transformative power of creativity and play.
