Children developing mathematical thinking
Children have many wide-ranging mathematical experiences from the moment they are born. These can give a secure basis on which to build their future maths achievements. This aim of this book is to provide information and support to everyone who has responsibility for, or interest in young children learning maths. It is designed to continue to promote the idea that children are active learners, who need a broad range of contexts in which to explore, experiment and talk about maths.
We have updated this popular series of compact and practical A5 booklets. Each gives up-to-date insight into good practice and provides the key principles for helping children develop in an important area of learning.
There are 3 titles in The Areas of Learning Series:
- More than Information & Communications Technology by John Siraj-Blatchford
- More than Numbers by Carole Skinner, revised by Elaine Bennett
- The Great Outdoors by Margaret Edgington
