Pikler UK Sensory Awareness Seminars

Friday, 27 September, 2019
Greenwich Steiner School, London, SE3 7SE

Course outline

This course is organised by the Pikler UK Association. It is an essential aspect of the European Pikler Association training model and is highly beneficial for anyone caring for very young children.

The seminars focus on becoming more aware of our physical selves in order to better understand our observations of young children’s self-initiated play and movement. Throughout the weekend we will reflect on our felt sensations, breathing, balance, and orientation to gravity and to others and thereby come to understand these processes in young children. We will also consider the role of the adult in young children’s sensory and movement play.

The seminars are led by Peggy Zeitler who is a leading Pikler Sensory Awareness trainer with a long association with the Pikler Institute and is founder of the European Pikler Association. She will be supported by Karsten Czimmek, who is Director of the Montessori Kindergarten, Niederseeon in Germany and a member of the Pikler Association Europe.
