Course outline

This exciting and interactive course will bring alive the possibilities and challenges of keeping up with two year olds! Being a two year old is very special and amazing transformations in thinking and understanding take place during this time. How can we link the emerging knowledge about brain development with what we see an individual child doing? High quality interactions and responsive relationships with adults are essential to establishing realistic expectations. How do we ensure that our expectations are realistic for each unique child? The challenges for parents can be exciting but unpredictable and difficult to make sense of, as their child shows their emerging independence. At such times support and understanding from practitioners can be invaluable. The course explores the early brain development, its implications along with practical approaches to support the child and their families.
