Areas of expertise
Ruth's career in education began as teacher in Year 2. Now as a former Primary, Nursery and Children’s Centre Head Teacher and School Improvement Advisor she firmly believes that children in their early years learn best in environments that provide opportunities to risk take, experiment, practise, think and discover - both indoors and out. Ruth endorses the method of 'planning in the moment' for young children ensuring that their learning is fulfilling and meaningful. Ruth's current work includes coaching and mentoring practitioners who are working with children with additional needs and supporting practitioners working with children from birth to 6 within Schools, Children Centres and the private and voluntary sector.
For one day a week she is based in a Primary School and Children’s Centre enabling her training to be practical, ‘grass roots’ based and reflective.
Currently Ruth is working as a School Improvement Advisor alongside coaching and mentoring practitioners.
