Areas of expertise

Julie is a leading expert in strategic leadership, change management and support for schools in challenging circumstances.  Her career in early years education spans over 39 years. Julie has held three headships in Croydon, and has been responsible for improving a failing school to an improving school with many good aspects within a year.  Since then she has held a number of posts including senior inspector for early years and primary education, head of early education and childcare for Croydon and Southwark, and latterly head of service partnerships for Croydon. 

While Julie was responsible for early education and childcare in Croydon the services were rated as outstanding by the National Strategies.  The post of head of service partnerships was responsible for early education and childcare, the reinvigoration of Croydon’s Children’s Trust, developing and monitoring LAA delivery plans, Croydon’s Adult Learning and Training (CALAT), extended services and Play and Healthy Schools.  Julie is now an independent consultant and has worked on service transformation in Croydon within the government initiative of Total Place.  She was the project lead for Early Education within P for Partnership work in Lambeth.
