Course outline

When children encounter the world around them, its materials and state of evolving and becoming, they have many ideas, stories, and ideas of how things happen. We can tap into this often internal world of enquiry by listening and joining in with their thinking. When we listen and act upon their thoughts about the world, it opens up children to developing a strong ecological identity that involves richer relationships with the world of insects, plants and changes apparent in the world such as seasonal change, the interdependency of living things, and climate change. These sessions allow for thinking about ways to extend children’s thinking and theorisation about their outdoor explorations, particularly at these times when such exploration may be more limited, to enable them to continue deep imaginative learning in different contexts.

This course will run in two parts a week apart, with a gap task in between to reinforce the key concepts explored within the webinar. You will be sent further details before each webinar of how to join the sessions. If you are unable to make the date or time of either webinar, you can still register and you'll receive the recording of each webinar and any materials afterwards.
